Status Quo man for Planet Rock

A series of shows for digital radio station Planet Rock is to host by Status Quo band frontman Francis Rossi.

One show a week for the station will be presented by him from March 6,The programme will commence on Sunday evenings from 6pm to 7pm.

"Over the years I've been in hundreds of radio stations but nobody has ever asked me to have a go myself,” Rossi said. “This time the only person cracking terrible jokes and missing their cues will be me."

“Planet Rock has always brought rock’s greatest artists to the airwaves, giving a rock star’s perspective to life on the road, in the studio and to hear stories never heard on radio before,” added Planet Rock programme director Trevor White.

“Francis has something to say about everyone and everything, the trouble is stopping him…. And his choice of music makes the show a must listen.”

Status Quo announce Thetford Forest concert


At Thetford Forest on Thursday, 9 June 2011, Status Quo have confirmed their participation as part of Forestry Commission Live Music.

Caroline, Down Down and Whatever You Want are classic songs by band which they will going to perform at their only appearance in the East this year.

In summer 2008 band last appeared in Norfolk.

"We are pleased to make Thetford part of our touring plans for 2011," said lead guitarist Francis Rossi.

"Forestry Commission Live Music is a fantastic annual event that has become a statutory part of the UK's live music calendar.

"We love to bag a trip to the woods each year."

For the summer concerts at Thetford Forest,Status Quo join Erasure and Simple Minds as confirmed acts.

Status Quo To Perform Mountain Top Concert in Austria


Ischgl in Austria is glad to announced that Status Quo band will be performing at a specially constructed arena high in the mountains above the village.Following guitarist Rick Parfitt’s recent health scare it would going to be the band’s first concert.

The concert, on Sunday 23 April, will be at Alp Trida at 2488m and will be the first of two stunning concerts to round off Ischgl’s 05-06 season. The star for the Top Of The Mountain season closing concert on Sunday 30 April is due to be announced in the next couple of weeks. Previous performers have included Diana Ross, Sting, Elton John and Peter Gabriel.

In A Music Interview With Status Quo


Status Quo annual UK tour is about to undertake and we can expect that it would going to be the last of its kind.

Singer and guitarist Francis Rossi confirmed that it could be the final year of doing the theaters.They want to focus now more on Arena for good future as theaters are killing them.

Francis and Rick Parfitt,both guitars are famously featuring Status Quo band and they are rigidly touring since last March.

Roch Band Status Quo play for autistic Oxfordshire children


Rock band Status Quo has played a Christmas song to kindly cash for autistic Oxfordshire childre. It will get a premiere at Oxford United’s home game against Shrewsbury Town tomorrow about 700 children in it have autism.

Rock guitarist Ian Bramble performed a song, is available to download iTunes and Amazon.

John Coghlan said: “I am always delighted to help such a marvellous cause – and I wish everyone a very happy Christmas.”

Teacher Eddie Quinn said: “Working with children and young people with autism has been a big motivation behind the song. Music can be such a great way for everyone to express themselves but maybe especially so for children and young people living with autism. I urge everyone to remember why it’s Christmas and please download the song if you can.”

At Chinnor based Children In Touch, offers education and development support for children with autism.

Spokesman Gita Loba said, “Oxfordshire children and young people who are affected by autism struggle to access the help they desperately need, leaving many feeling isolated and desperate. We are so grateful to Eddie and the community of Oxfordshire for continuing to support our work and hope to have a good reason to be jolly this year by generating some much needed funds.”

Status Quo for Lytham Proms


The stars of Lytham Proms 2011 next summer will be STATUS Quo and Katherine Jenkins.

And the outdoor music spectacular on Lytham Green is to be held over TWO nights on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s event,the event has been expanded. Last year crowd of 5000 participated to enjoyed a patriotic performance from Lesley Garrett, that was the climax to a Battle of Britain anniversary weekend.

Within the shadow of Lytham Windmill on Friday,August 5,legendary rock band Status Quo will perform.

Stunning opera star and Forces heart-throb Katherine Jenkins (below) will take to the stage the following night – accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra for another evening of flag-waving pomp and ceremony.

The concert is being organised by St Annes-based Cuffe and Taylor Event Management.

A spokesman said: “Securing these two massive names for Lytham is a fantastic opportunity for the area. People will actually come into the area to spend the weekend, which is great news for the businesses, the shops and hotels.”
