Rock band Status Quo have announced that their 11 UK date winter tour will be coming to Cardiff in December.

The inaugural “QuoFest” tour sees the mighty Status Quo joined on all dates by Roy Wood and Kim Wilde and will be performing at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, December 10.

Christmas parties in the final concert of music is promised.

Tickets cost £37.50 plus booking fee, are on sale now from the Motorpoint Arena box.

Status Quo man for Planet Rock

A series of shows for digital radio station Planet Rock is to host by Status Quo band frontman Francis Rossi.

One show a week for the station will be presented by him from March 6,The programme will commence on Sunday evenings from 6pm to 7pm.

"Over the years I've been in hundreds of radio stations but nobody has ever asked me to have a go myself,” Rossi said. “This time the only person cracking terrible jokes and missing their cues will be me."

“Planet Rock has always brought rock’s greatest artists to the airwaves, giving a rock star’s perspective to life on the road, in the studio and to hear stories never heard on radio before,” added Planet Rock programme director Trevor White.

Status Quo strutted on the stage with a complete plan to entertain and rock their fans.

Whenever Status Quo is performing one can't sit back and as expected, from the first strains of the timeless classic Caroline, the audience were up on their feet, singing, clapping and some even head-banging.

The most entertaining things of their show is that you don't have any surprises and you are going to be treated with a great solid show.

The band know their stuff – and so they should after all the years they have been in the business.

It was clearly evident that the band thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout and it was infectious.

A mixed bunch of young and old left the City Hall with smiles on their faces.

Status Quo Still Lacking On There Long Awaited Show..

On their comeback Status Quo band members was looking different in their physical appearance but there hasn't been any change in their voice.

It seems that there is still something lacking when Status Quo made their long-awaited – and three-times postponed – return to the Regent on 16,Nov,2010.

Their fans waited for almost 2 years as the band previous winter's show was canceled thrice due to illness

That only increased the crowd’s anticipation – and unfounded rumours earlier this week that the show could be postponed only fanned the anticipation.

They are always pumped the crowd and rocks the stage, but this time they had different strategy in there mind.In the first half of show the band

During the first half of the near two-hour set the band revived several album tracks from the 70s and 80s that will have been unfamiliar to all but the diehard fans.

I’ve seen them several times, but there were tracks new to me. One of the finest was the Rick Parfitt song “For You” which showed a very different Quo to that most of us know and love.

During the second half of the set we were treated to more of the old standards that were familiar to all.

But the band doesn't look perfect with their voices aren’t as flexible or as durable as they once were.

Francis has always taken the lion’s share, in the end he was fumbling with his voice,he really needs the help of audience and rest of the band to continue more

But that is a very small niggle at the end of a great night of music – and after all the problems of last winter it was a real treat to see the boys back in town.

This was actually the first time I had seen the Status Quo at the Regent since 2006 although Ipswich has always remained a key date on all their tours – and coming back to see them after such an absence certainly helped me to appreciate just what a professional and committed act they still are.
